Excuses aside, I've been having a great deal of fun in the Music Technology class, and feel like my mind and perceptions have been stretched in our discussions and work. I'm really excited to start mangling and warping that heinous toy guitar that I picked up at Value Village (for only $1.99!). Oh the potential...
In other news, my 10 Sounds project along with all of my other files and projects that I've had on this computer over the last four years or so (and everyone else's things as well) have all mysteriously disappeared, along with Logic and a few other random things. I suppose it's my fault for not having fully completed my 10 Sounds project by Tuesday this week (the date I myself suggested the previous week), but it doesn't make it less frustrating. Thankfully, I had already sent my ten sounds themselves to Dr. Cee, (and have a record of said email in my own account) so I don't have to go through the process of making ten more. Hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have re-completed my "song," and have it posted on my blogspot. Hopefully it won't disappoint...
Can't wait to hear it! Hope all goes well.
ReplyDeleteAs cool as technology is... its no good when it eats your homework.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the reconstruction, I look forward to getting to hear it :)
Never fun to lose stuff. I was inches away from something similar happening to the computer I was working on. Luckily, James rescued a bunch of my stuff from that computer. Thank you James!
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty lame! In orchestration class last spring I lost about 1/3 of my final project for the symphony. It was dangerous to come into the computer lab for about 5 minutes. You held it together well. Can't wait to hear it!
ReplyDeletehmmm...i was wondering about the outcome of your initial question about the stuff on the computer. it seems a bit odd to me that one computer would go down today and another would be entirely revamped? foul play? well, i suppose i'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist so i shouldn't get so involved here. yet, i think i'm supposed to make that room safe too. perhaps we ought to invest in thumb drives and what have you or alternate ways of backing things up. i've always been reluctant about those things and consequently just email stuff to myself. sorry to hear about such troubles.
ReplyDeletei'll check in with you later.
Your files are fine, and logic is still there. The computer was just logged in as the wrong user. I had messed up things a little after hacking Scott's account, but I've got it set now so it automatically logs into the correct account. Sorry for freaking you out.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, I'm just happy everything's still there. Thanks for the heads-up!
